The short version

  1. Talk to your council's childminding team
  2. Do introductory training, paediatric first aid and safeguarding
  3. Get DBS checks (you + adults at home) and a GP health declaration
  4. Make your home safe and write your policies
  5. Apply to Ofsted (up to 12 weeks) and pass the registration visit
  6. Insurance, ICO, HMRC, Tax-Free Childcare, Bromley funding agreement, then open!
